Course Overview
The Trade Test is the official assessment required for artisans to become fully qualified and nationally recognized in their trade. At Highbury College, we provide structured training and support to help candidates prepare for and pass the Trade Test with confidence.
What is the Trade Test?
The Trade Test is a practical and theoretical assessment administered by a QCTO-accredited Trade Test Centre. Passing this test means you’re officially certified as a Qualified Artisan and eligible to work independently in your trade anywhere in South Africa.

Requirements
- Completed your Apprenticeship or Learnership
- A Section 28 or Section 26D route qualification (Recognition of Prior Learning)
- Compiled a valid Portfolio of Evidence
- Meet the minimum work experience requirements in your trade
